I’ve returned to Vietnam, my homeland, spending time with family and reacquainting myself with the flavors and scents of life here after so long away. The rooters crow every couple of hours, cars honk nonstop, market buzz with chatter, street vendors call out, and karaoke blares from morning till night create a cacophony that I once hated yet also loved in its own unique way. Because of that, “Ca phe sua” (Vietnamese milk coffee) cannot be absent from ‘Caffeinated’, you cannot come to Vietnam without trying phin coffee, which is both French and distinctly Vietnamese.
